Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Gege Akutami Launches New Manga: Mojuro

Gege Akutami, the creator of the widely successful Jujutsu Kaisen, is set to release a new manga titled Mojuro. This short-term series, illustrated by Yuji Iwasaki, marks Akutami’s return to the manga scene after the conclusion of Jujutsu Kaisen in September 2024. Mojuro is scheduled to debut on September 8, 2025, in Weekly Shonen Jump.

The upcoming manga is planned as a six-month run, neatly collected into three volumes. Akutami has indicated that Mojuro may not be a direct continuation of Jujutsu Kaisen but could expand its universe in parallel, exploring different settings, eras, or characters while maintaining the same thematic DNA. This approach offers a playground for experimentation and fresh storytelling.
