Coleman Crow Makes MLB Debut with the Brewers

Coleman Crow's path to the major leagues has been anything but straightforward. Drafted by the Angels, he was traded to the Mets in the deal that sent Eduardo Escobar to Los Angeles. Shortly after joining the Mets organization, Crow underwent Tommy John surgery, sidelining him for an extended period. In December of that year, he was traded again, this time to the Brewers for Adrian Houser and Tyrone Taylor.

After missing the 2024 season due to recovery, Crow returned to the mound in 2025, splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A. He logged 50 innings with a 3.24 ERA and a high 32% strikeout rate. These strong performances earned him a spot on the Brewers' 40-man roster, preventing him from becoming a minor league free agent.

In his first two appearances of 2026 with Triple-A Nashville, Crow made two starts and one relief appearance, pitching a total of 15 2/3 innings with a 4.02 ERA. His performance earned him the call-up to the majors.

Given the Brewers' current rotation, which includes Jacob Misiorowski, Kyle Harrison, Chad Patrick, Brandon Sproat, and Brandon Woodruff, Crow's start may be a strategic move to provide rest for other pitchers. His ability to be optioned back to the minors provides the team with flexibility.
