Breeze Airways is set to introduce daily nonstop flights from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) to Las Vegas and Los Angeles in February 2026. This move enhances MSY's connectivity and provides more travel options for passengers. Breeze also announced direct nonstop flights to Tampa, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and Savannah.

Avelo Airlines West Coast Shutdown:

Avelo Airlines will cease operations at Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) by early December, reducing its local fleet to one aircraft by August 12. The airline cited financial returns in a competitive backdrop as the primary reason for this decision. Avelo launched its first flight from Burbank in 2021 and expanded service to 13 routes.

MSY Recognition:

MSY received the "Best Airport in North America" award for the fourth consecutive year in 2024, highlighting its commitment to customer service and quality. American Airlines began offering nonstop flights from MSY to LaGuardia. Spirit Airlines announced a daily, nonstop route from New Orleans to New York-LaGuardia and a nonstop to Charlotte.
