This includes three natural gas plants (Viola Generating Station, Sumner County, Kansas; McNew Generating Station, Reno County, Kansas; and Mullin Creek Generating Station, Nodaway County, Missouri) and two solar projects (Sky Solar Project in Wilson County, Kansas, and the Foxtrot Solar Energy Project in Jasper County, Missouri).
The Kansas Corporation Commission granted approval earlier in July. Missouri passed Senate Bill 4, effective Aug. 28, enabling Evergy to finance the facilities through increased utility rates.
