Tyrese Gibson Booked on Animal Cruelty Charge in Dog Mauling Case

On September 18, 2025, Tyrese Gibson’s four Cane Corso dogs were seen running through his Atlanta neighborhood and allegedly killed a neighbor’s 5-year-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel named Henry. The owner, Harrison Parker, found his dog with severe injuries, including broken ribs and internal bleeding. Security camera footage showed Gibson’s dogs near Parker’s home.

Following the incident, authorities issued an arrest warrant for Gibson, who turned himself in on Friday, October 3, 2025. He was booked on a charge of cruelty to animals and released on a $20,000 bond. Gibson’s attorney stated that the actor is cooperating with legal authorities and extends his condolences to the affected family.

Neighbors had previously complained about Gibson’s dogs running loose. Police reports indicate at least five such incidents. Fulton County officials have emphasized the need to ensure the dogs are properly secured and deemed safe, stating that rehoming them is not sufficient.

Gibson initially acquired the dogs for security purposes after dealing with stalkers, but neighbors reported the dogs were often seen unsupervised. The American Kennel Club notes that Cane Corsos require responsible breeding and early socialization to mitigate potential risks.
