Noah Presgrove's death has remained a mystery since he was discovered near Terral, Oklahoma, in September 2023. Defendants include Jack Newton (Presgrove's friend), Carter Combs (Presgrove's girlfriend), and several other individuals who either hosted or attended the party. The lawsuit claims that the beating of Presgrove was intentional, malicious, and in reckless disregard of his rights, although it does not specify who is believed to be responsible. The case highlights the complexities of assigning blame in incidents involving alcohol and multiple individuals.

The medical examiner's report stated that Presgrove died from "multiple blunt force injuries" to his head, neck, torso, and extremities.

The family is seeking at least $75,000 for funeral costs, pain and suffering, lost earnings, and companionship, along with punitive damages.

Initially, the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety did not investigate Presgrove's death as a murder.
