Knoxville Police Department Homicide Unit detectives, aided by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, detained Jaylyn Hudson and Jayden Conwell on Monday, April 14th. Following questioning, both were charged with first-degree murder and booked into the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility.

According to an arrest report cited by WBIR, Conwell stated that he, Hudson, and another individual went to Russo's location intending to buy something. He alleged Hudson exited their vehicle with an 'AR pistol' shortly before the shooting occurred. Furthermore, investigators found that Hudson had reportedly contacted Russo via Snapchat before the fatal encounter. Ayden Russo was discovered with a single gunshot wound to the chest in the backyard where the incident took place.
