Former Postal Supervisor Pleads Guilty to Check Theft in St. Louis

Benita D. Randle, as a supervisor at the St. Louis Processing and Distribution Center, had access to all non-parcel mail for the metropolitan area. Between September and October 2023, she exploited this position by stealing checks and providing them to John W. Harrison. Harrison then removed the checks. The crime was uncovered when Randle’s vehicle was repossessed, leading to the discovery of stolen checks along with other illegal items. Randle initially denied handling mail but later investigators found she had stolen 89 checks. A counterfeit check matching stolen bank information was also discovered. Randle is set to be sentenced on Aug. 20, and Harrison on June 3.

Randle was charged with one count of theft of mail by a postal employee.
