Seated near his idol, Virat Kohli, the then 16-year-old Reddy, without his own phone, borrowed his uncle's to discreetly attempt a selfie from the background, hoping not to disturb Kohli.

Later, Reddy desired a proper photograph but found access blocked by security during what he described as Kohli's 'prime time'. Observing Reddy's persistent but unsuccessful attempts, Anushka Sharma, who was accompanying Kohli, graciously approached the young cricketer. She offered her help, saying, “Come, I will give you a picture.” Reddy described this as an unexpected and 'great moment'.
