LCK Secures Fourth Seed at Worlds 2025 After T1 and Gen.G Victories

The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is a key tournament that not only awards a title but also impacts qualification for the World Championship. In 2025, T1 and Gen.G's performance ensured that the LCK will have four teams competing at Worlds. This is due to the revised format where the MSI winner gets an automatic spot at Worlds, and the region with the second-best performance also receives an additional seed.

The Play-In Stage will now feature a single, high-stakes best-of-five match between the fourth seeds from the top two regions at MSI. This new format increases the importance of MSI and provides more opportunities for top regions to succeed at Worlds. Last year, the extra seeds secured by Gen.G and Bilibili Gaming at MSI 2024 proved advantageous for Weibo Gaming and T1. T1 ultimately won the World Championship, underscoring the significance of these additional slots.

Currently, the LCK is highly competitive. Teams like NS RedForce, KT Rolster and Dplus KIA are all in contention, making the fight for the LCK seeds even more intense.

T1 and Gen.G's strong performances at MSI 2025 guaranteed the LCK a spot in the Grand Final, securing the additional seed.
