California Strawberry Festival Celebrates 40 Years in Ventura County

The California Strawberry Festival is more than just a food festival; it's a recognition of the agricultural heritage and community identity tied to strawberry farming in Ventura County. Martha Guerrero, a local strawberry grower, emphasizes the hard work and dedication of farmworkers and the importance of sustainable farming practices.

Festival Activities and Offerings

Attendees enjoyed a variety of strawberry-themed food and beverages, carnival rides, and live music. The festival also provided a platform for local artists and craft vendors, offering unique and handmade items.

Transportation and Accessibility

Free shuttle services were available from various locations in Ventura and Oxnard, encouraging visitors to utilize public transportation. Discounted fares were offered on Metrolink and Amtrak's Surfliner, promoting eco-friendly travel options.

The festival was held at the Ventura County Fairgrounds, located at 10 W. Harbor Blvd., Ventura.

General admission was $15. Tickets for active military with ID and family and seniors 62 and over were $10. Youth ages 5 to 12 were $8, and children 4 and under were free.

Free shuttles ran from various locations in Ventura and Oxnard. Train service was also available from Metrolink and Amtrak’s Surfliner.
