His return to the college ranks saw him win a Big 12 North championship with Nebraska in 2006. Back in the NFL, Callahan continued to develop offensive lines with the New York Jets, Dallas Cowboys, Washington Redskins, and Cleveland Browns.

During his time with the Browns under Kevin Stefanski, the offensive line was consistently ranked among the league's best. His ability to mentor and develop players has earned him accolades, including Assistant Coach of the Year in 2009. Callahan’s reuniting with Stefanski in Atlanta is expected to bring similar improvements to the Falcons' offensive line, which features established talents like Chris Lindstrom and Jake Matthews.
