Seahawks Rookies Grey Zabel and Jalen Sundell Impress in Preseason

Grey Zabel's performance in the preseason opener against the Las Vegas Raiders drew praise from NFL Network's Brian Baldinger, who lauded Zabel's strength, quick feet, and power. Zabel earned an impressive 81.2 grade from Pro Football Focus (PFF) for his performance, allowing no pressures in 11 pass-blocking snaps.

Jalen Sundell also shone against the Raiders, allowing no pressures despite facing the Raiders' starting defensive line early in the game. Sundell's previous experience filling in due to injuries in 2024, where he also performed well, adds to his case for the starting role. His existing chemistry with Zabel from their time at North Dakota State could be a significant advantage in building a cohesive offensive line.

The Seahawks' coaching staff, including head coach Mike Macdonald, have been impressed with Zabel's consistent performance throughout rookie minicamp, OTAs, and training camp. Macdonald noted that Zabel executed at a high level, mirroring his practice performance.

Grey Zabel is a rookie left guard, and Jalen Sundell is a center, both vying for starting positions on the Seattle Seahawks offensive line.

Both Zabel and Sundell had strong performances, with Zabel earning an 81.2 PFF grade and neither allowing any pressures against the Las Vegas Raiders.
