Dune: Awakening No Longer Considered an MMO
Dune: Awakening's genre has been a topic of debate. Initially seen as an MMO, the game's director has now clarified its classification. This...
Necrolei Cysts are harvested from Stilt Orbs in a specific biome located approximately 300 meters northwest of the Lifepod.
A Processor is required to craft Strong Acid, and the blueprint for it can be found inside the Old Habitat.
Strong Acid is primarily used to create Power Cells for the Tadpole submarine and other useful items like the Rebreather.
Why this matters: Acquiring Strong Acid is a bottleneck in Subnautica 2's progression. It allows players to craft essential items for deeper exploration and resource gathering.
To locate Necrolei Cysts:
Enable landmark signals in your character menu to easily identify points of interest.
Head approximately 300 meters northwest of the Lifepod. The biome is characterized by large flower-shaped organisms with dark green ridged bodies and pink frills.
Look for Stilt Orbs on the seafloor at roughly 25 meters depth. These are green, onion-shaped bulbs anchored by pink tendrils, with Necrolei Cysts growing as flowers on top.
Harvest the cysts using your Survival Multitool by striking the top of the Stilt Orb.
Strong Acid cannot be crafted at the standard Fabricator. You need a Processor.
Unlock the Processor Blueprint: Find broken Processors inside the Old Habitat (north of the Lifepod) and scan them.
Build the Processor: Requires Titanium x2, Mild Acid x1, and Copper Wire x1.
Mild Acid is crafted from Copper and Acidic Raion Pouches at the Fabricator.
Copper Wire is crafted from Copper ore.
Once the Processor is running, you can craft Strong Acid using:
2x Necrolei Cyst
Alternative: 1x Sulfur and 1x Gold (requires Heat Tolerance Adaptation, a mid-game unlock).
Strong Acid is a component in several key items:
Power Cell (for the Tadpole submarine)
Fiber Mesh (for Improved Fins and the Rebreather)
Q: Where can I find Necrolei Cysts?
Necrolei Cysts can be found growing on Stilt Orbs in the turquoise and pink anemone area, located about 450m north-northwest of the starting Lifepod.
Q: What do I need Strong Acid for?
Strong Acid is crucial for crafting Power Cells, which are needed to power the Tadpole mini-sub and other essential equipment like the Rebreather.
Strong Acid is vital for early to mid-game progression in Subnautica 2.
Prioritize finding the Old Habitat to unlock the Processor blueprint.
Harvesting Necrolei Cysts is the most accessible way to produce Strong Acid early on.
Power Cells made with Strong Acid are essential for exploring deeper ocean zones.
