Xbox App Launches on LG Smart TVs

LG Smart TV owners in over 25 countries can now access the Xbox app via the Gaming Portal and LG Apps. This allows them to jump directly into gameplay with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, offering hundreds of titles.

The app supports streaming a select catalog of games already owned by users, such as NBA 2K25 and Hogwarts Legacy. LG’s partnership with Xbox aims to deliver an ultimate home entertainment experience with cutting-edge TVs and the webOS platform, enhancing gameplay with 4K visuals on OLED and QNED TVs.

Microsoft initially launched the Xbox TV app on Samsung smart TVs in 2022 and has since expanded it to older models. The Xbox app on LG smart TVs mirrors the web version of Xbox Cloud Gaming, providing a similar console-like experience.

The Xbox app is compatible with LG’s 2022 OLED TVs, select 2023 smart TVs, and newer models running webOS24 or higher. It will soon be available on StanbyME screens.

You need a Bluetooth-enabled controller and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to stream Xbox games to your TV.

Xbox cloud gaming via the app is available in over 25 countries, including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK, and USA.
