Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s Slump-Busting Gear Change: Stanton's Pants and Caballero's Bat

Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s journey to break out of his slump has been filled with unconventional methods. After a disappointing start to the season, Chisholm initially experimented with Trent Grisham's pants, seeking a change of pace. When Grisham's pants weren't available, he turned to Giancarlo Stanton's larger pants, which he found gave him a cool look and coincided with a strong offensive performance.

Adding to the gear changes, Chisholm picked up José Caballero's bat, which he describes as feeling like a softball model with a long barrel. This bat, made by Victus, is different from Chisholm's usual Chandler bats. Despite the differences, Chisholm feels more connected with the ball when swinging Caballero's bat.

The changes appear to be paying off, with Chisholm showing signs of improvement at the plate. His manager and teammates are optimistic that these adjustments will help him return to his expected level of performance, reminiscent of his successful 2025 season where he hit 31 home runs and stole 31 bases.

Caballero's bat has a longer barrel and a unique feel that Chisholm believes helps him stay back and make better contact with the ball.

Chisholm and Caballero have known each other since playing together in the Arizona Diamondbacks' system in 2017 and 2018.
