Thunderbolts* and Sinners Dominate the Box Office

Thunderbolts* is performing well, with projections indicating a $35 million second weekend, a drop of roughly 53% from its debut. This performance is better than Captain America: Brave New World, which saw a larger drop in its second weekend. Compared to other MCU films centered on lesser-known heroes, Thunderbolts* is pacing between Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals.

Sinners continues to show impressive staying power, projected to earn $22M in its fourth weekend. It has surpassed Captain America: Brave New World as the second-highest-grossing North American release of 2025, behind A Minecraft Movie. Sinners is also on track to enter the top 20 highest-grossing R-rated North American releases of all time.

A Minecraft Movie is holding steady, adding another $8.8 million in its sixth weekend, and is expected to surpass $900 million worldwide. The Accountant 2 is also performing steadily, projected to pass $50.8 million domestically.
