Thunderbolts Unmasks Its Villain: The Void and Sentry Explained

Reynolds is a man suffering from schizophrenia and anxiety who gains Superman-like powers after ingesting an experimental serum. However, this serum also creates a malevolent alter-ego known as the Void.

To counteract the Void, Reynolds subconsciously creates the Sentry, a heroic persona. The trailers for 'Thunderbolts' suggest that the film will explore this duality, with the Void presenting himself as a dark version of the Sentry, capable of wreaking havoc.

The Thunderbolts team, assembled by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, must confront this powerful threat. The team consists of Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and U.S. Agent. The film promises a difficult mission for this crew, testing their ability to unite against a common enemy.

Box office analysts are cautiously optimistic about 'Thunderbolts' performance, with forecasts suggesting an opening weekend of $65M - $85M. The film's success will depend on positive word-of-mouth and its ability to draw in both casual MCU fans and dedicated followers of the comic book source material. The presence of familiar characters could be a draw, but their previous appearances in older movies or Disney+ shows might limit broader appeal.
