This marks the third collaboration between Sennott and Utopia, following 'Shiva Baby' and 'I Used to Be Funny'. Katarina Zhu wrote the script and produces alongside Sennott and others. Utopia's head of distribution, Kyle Greenberg, praised Zhu as a 'singular new voice'.
