Daniel Hernandez, known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, surrendered to authorities to begin a three-month jail sentence for violating his probation. The violations stem from a New York gang case where he was found to have assaulted someone and possessed drugs. The rapper, who rose to fame in the late 2010s as a streaming sensation, has a long history of legal issues and controversies.

During a livestream with Adin Ross, Hernandez was seen having his ankle monitor removed before turning himself in. He joked about meeting other high-profile inmates, including Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and Luigi Mangione, who are also being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in Brooklyn.

According to his spokesperson, Hernandez plans to use this time for "personal discipline, physical training, and improving his overall health, as well as writing new music and refining details for his upcoming tour plans."

This isn't Hernandez's first brush with the law. In 2018, he was arrested on racketeering and firearm charges related to his involvement with the Nine Trey Bloods gang. He later pleaded guilty to nine charges in exchange for a reduced sentence.

He is serving a three-month sentence for probation violations stemming from a New York gang case.
