Aliyah Henderson Case: From Honor Roll to Homicide Charges

Aliyah Henderson’s life appears to have taken a turn in the summer of 2014. Before that, she had been a straight-A student, but police records show that she began to unravel, running away from home and cutting off contact with friends and family. She was also a victim of assault and domestic violence in subsequent years. The bodies of Amor Wilson and Mila Chatman were discovered on March 2, 2026, in suitcases near East 162nd Street and Midland Avenue. The discovery was made by a man walking his dog, who alerted the authorities. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the girls, who were half-sisters. Police Chief Dorothy Todd stated that the victims had been deceased for some time. Henderson was arrested on March 4 after a search warrant was executed. A 6-year-old child was also found at the home and is now in the custody of the Department of Children and Family Services. The legal proceedings have been complicated by a dispute over legal representation, with the public defender’s office initially seeking to represent Henderson due to an existing relationship through a separate custody matter. However, a judge assigned private counsel to the case.

Aliyah Henderson faces two counts of aggravated murder.

The bodies were found in suitcases in shallow graves near East 162nd Street and Midland Avenue in Cleveland.

Henderson’s bond is set at $2 million.
