Officer-Involved Shooting in Cedar Park Leaves One Dead

On Sunday night, Cedar Park Police responded to a call regarding a stabbing at TopSpin Karaoke Bar. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim with multiple stab wounds, who was then transported to a local hospital.

Police quickly located a suspect matching the description provided, who was riding a motorcycle. A short chase ensued, ending when the suspect stopped and brandished a firearm at the officers. In response, the officers fired their weapons, resulting in the suspect’s death.

The Texas Rangers are now assisting with the investigation. Standard procedure dictates that the officers involved have been placed on administrative leave. Authorities have not yet determined if the suspect fired any shots or if there was a connection between the suspect and the stabbing victim. The last officer-involved shooting in Cedar Park occurred in 2020 during an 18-hour standoff.
