Man Arrested in Orlando Attacks on Elderly Women

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Deriko Hill after responding to reports of a suspicious person at Brookdale Senior Living. Hill matched the description of the suspect in an April 29 attack at HarborChase, where a 90-year-old woman was assaulted in her apartment. Surveillance footage and Hill’s own confessions linked him to the crime. He is also connected to a similar incident on April 15 in the Orwin Manor neighborhood, where a 76-year-old woman was attacked during a home burglary. The Orlando Police Department is pursuing additional charges related to this incident. DNA evidence confirmed Hill’s involvement in both cases. The arrest has brought relief to the victims and the community, emphasizing the commitment of law enforcement to protect vulnerable seniors.

The suspect is Deriko Hill, a 26-year-old man.

He faces charges including attempted sexual battery, burglary, and battery on a person 65 years of age or older.

The attacks occurred at HarborChase and Brookdale senior living facilities, as well as a private residence in the Orwin Manor neighborhood.
