Officials Investigate Fatal Accident at Portillo's Restaurant

On Wednesday, a vehicle crashed through the front entrance of a Portillo's restaurant at 2810 Route 34 in Oswego, Illinois. The incident occurred at 1:55 p.m., resulting in multiple injuries and one fatality. The Oswego Police Department and the Kane County Coroner's Office are working together to investigate the crash.

According to reports, eight people were transported to local hospitals, while five others received treatment at the scene. The ages of the injured ranged from their 20s to their 60s. The 2-year-old boy was pronounced dead at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Police have identified the driver as a 50-year-old woman, and the vehicle involved was a 2011 Lincoln MKZ Sedan.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are reviewing all available evidence, including witness statements and surveillance video, to determine the exact cause of the crash. It is currently undetermined whether charges will be filed against the driver.
