The victim disclosed that Sorrells molested him at a party for her son and also in her car after picking him up from a football game. The affidavit also revealed that Sorrells provided alcohol and tobacco to the victim and his friends. The investigation was initiated after the victim's mother found deleted text messages between Sorrells and the victim, where Sorrells referred to him as "babe."

Sorrells was found guilty on two counts of indecency with a child and sentenced to 30 months for each charge, to be served consecutively. She will also be required to pay a $10,000 fine. Jurors acquitted Sorrells on two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child.
