Search for Travis Decker Continues as Authorities Investigate Possible Assistance

The search for Travis Decker has been exhaustive, involving local, state, and federal resources. The bodies of his three daughters were discovered on June 2 at a campground near Leavenworth, Washington. The Chelan County medical examiner determined their cause of death was suffocation, and the manner of death was homicide. Evidence, including DNA samples linking Decker to the crime scene, has intensified the manhunt.

Despite initial leads and extensive searches in Chelan and Kittitas counties, Decker remains at large. The King County Sheriff's Office recently received a tip about a possible sighting on the Pacific Crest Trail near Snoqualmie Pass, leading to a renewed search effort involving drones, K9 teams, and the KCSO’s Guardian One helicopter. Sheriff Morrison has acknowledged the possibility that Decker may have received a ride out of the area or is being aided by someone sympathetic to his situation.

Given Decker’s military background and survival skills, authorities recognize the challenges in locating him. The search area spans vast wilderness, and the possibility of Decker receiving outside assistance further complicates the investigation. A reward of up to $20,000 is being offered for information leading directly to his arrest.

The CCSO has urged anyone with information to come forward and emphasized the importance of bringing closure to the community and the family of the victims.

Travis Decker is charged with three counts of murder and kidnapping at the local level, and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution at the federal level.

Initially, police thought Decker might be heading out of the country along the Pacific Crest Trail, possibly towards Canada, based on his Google searches.

Current search efforts are focused on the Icicle Creek area and following up on any new leads, including a recent possible sighting near Snoqualmie Pass.
