William Newlon, who is not affiliated with UCF, allegedly used information obtained through Snapchat to harass the victim. After being blocked, he sent threatening messages and stated he would come to her residence. The victim contacted UCFPD, leading to Newlon's arrest. He faces charges of aggravated cyberstalking with a credible threat and written or electronic threat to kill or cause bodily harm.

UCFPD advises students in similar situations to document everything and contact the police immediately.

Charlie Kirk was shot while holding an event at Utah Valley University. A single bullet struck him in the neck. Experts suggest that the weaponry used would allow even a novice shooter to carry out such an attack. The gunman is believed to have fired from a rooftop approximately 175 yards away.

Authorities have recovered the weapon, described as a “high-powered bolt-action rifle,” and have video of a person of interest. Former ATF agents noted that a trained professional would likely have used an untraceable weapon and taken greater care to avoid detection.
