Calabria Launches "Sailing in Calabria 2026" Educational Project

The "Calabria in barca a vela 2026" project offers a blend of education and practical experience. Students will navigate along the coasts of Calabria, gaining skills in sailing and teamwork while also learning about environmental sustainability and the cultural heritage of the region. The initiative is structured as a series of stages, each managed by different sports high schools, ensuring a broad and inclusive educational journey. The project aims to foster responsibility, collaboration, and active citizenship among students, enhancing their understanding of the region’s landscape and culture. It’s supported by the Regional School Office for Calabria, the Calabria Region, and networks of health-promoting schools, ensuring a comprehensive approach to student development.

It is an educational and sports project for Calabrian high school students, combining sailing, environmental education, and regional promotion.

14 sports high schools across Calabria are involved, including IIS L. Palma Green Falcone Borsellino, LS “Julia” Acri, and others.

Students will develop sailing skills, learn about sustainability, and enhance their understanding of Calabrian culture and environment.
