Following excessive flooding in Otake Camp, an evacuation warning has been issued for areas near the Wahiawa Dam. Dr. Randal Collins, director of the Honolulu Department of Emergency Management, indicated that the reservoir's water level is dangerously close to the point of failure. The department is closely monitoring conditions and aims to initiate evacuations two hours before any potential dam failure. A band of heavy rain, possibly including thunderstorms, is expected to hit the area, potentially adding two to five more inches of rainfall. Residents are advised to bring essential supplies to evacuation shelters, including sleeping gear, clothing, water, food, medications, and important documents. The dam itself has not shown signs of structural damage.
