Aguilera was last heard from around 6 p.m. on the day of the game. Her mother became concerned when her phone went silent. Aguilera's mother was later notified of her daughter's death nearly 15 hours after her body was discovered.
Other students in the area have expressed unease over the unanswered questions surrounding Aguilera's death. While police say there were no initial signs of suspicious circumstances, the investigation remains open. The Travis County Medical Examiner is still determining the official cause of death.
Aguilera, a graduate of United High School in Laredo, was studying at Texas A&M’s Bush School of Government and Public Service. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to assist with funeral expenses.
