Lexington and Patriots' Day Road Closures and Event Information

Lexington Road Closures for Lex250:

Starting at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, road closures will be in effect in Lexington. Key closures include Bedford Street, Hancock Street, Harrington Road, and Massachusetts Avenue, among others. Patriots’ Day and the Boston Marathon:

Patriots’ Day, observed on the third Monday in April, commemorates the start of the American Revolution. This year, it falls on April 21, 2025, coinciding with the Boston Marathon. Most Massachusetts state government services will be closed. The Boston Marathon will affect transportation, especially the MBTA. Copley Station will be closed all day, and other Green Line stations will have closures from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The MBTA will operate on a normal weekday schedule with extra service. Bikes are banned from the subway system and Framingham/Worcester Line trains on Monday. Commuter Rail lines will operate on their usual weekday schedule, but the Framingham/Worcester line will have increased frequency. Bus routes will follow a Saturday schedule, with potential detours due to the Marathon. Routes 55 and 65 are suspended for the day.
