Father and Daughter Die After Being Swept into Ocean by Wave in Monterey County

Yuji Hu was rescued from the water by an off-duty lifeguard, who administered CPR. He was then transported to a hospital but was later pronounced dead. The body of his daughter was found by a diver approximately 100 yards offshore and about half a mile north of her last known location.
