This isolation reportedly warped their sense of reality, as evidenced by text messages exchanged after Kirk's murder.

Twiggs's family initially received FBI protection due to threats, but that protection has since been discontinued. A law enforcement source confirmed that Twiggs is cooperating with authorities, although a relative expressed doubts about the extent of his cooperation, noting that he had to be brought in for questioning and only provided information when asked.

Tyler Robinson faces multiple felony charges, including aggravated murder. The legal proceedings are expected to be lengthy and costly. The end of protection for Twiggs suggests that authorities believe the immediate threat has diminished with Robinson's incarceration and the lack of ongoing threats.
