Arctic Blast and Cold Front Bring Record Lows to Florida

A strong cold front is moving across Florida, originating from an arctic blast. This front is causing gusty winds and a sharp decline in temperatures. The timing of the front's passage will result in afternoon temperatures being cooler than morning temperatures in many areas. Central Florida saw strong storms ahead of the front, while Southwest Florida is bracing for the cold. The coldest conditions are expected Monday night into Tuesday morning. North Florida may experience its first frost and freeze of the season. Coastal areas will experience slightly warmer temperatures than inland areas, but wind chills will still be a concern. The high-pressure system following the front will bring dry and breezy conditions. Tampa will be near record low temperatures. The unseasonably cold conditions are expected to persist through Wednesday before temperatures gradually rise back into the 70s.

All of Florida will experience cooler temperatures, but North and Central Florida will see the most dramatic drops, with potential for freezing conditions.
