It's crucial to charge phones and ensure they can operate without Wi-Fi in case of power outages. Additionally, the University of Oklahoma advises people, in the case of a tornado, to identify a safe place at home and follow the “get in, get down, cover” strategy by choosing an interior room on the lowest floor, and use a helmet and or blankets and pillows to protect oneself from potential debris.

Weather preparedness and safety tips include having an emergency supply kit with water, non-perishable food, a first aid kit, flashlight, and radio. If a tornado warning is issued, seek shelter immediately.
