Winter Storms Cause Power Outages in North and South Carolina

The winter storms brought a mix of snow and ice, causing significant disruptions. South Carolina saw its biggest snowfall in several years in Columbia, while North Carolina braced for potential overwash along the coast. The primary concern for both states was power outages caused by heavy snow and ice weighing down power lines. Transportation was severely affected, with icy conditions leading to road closures and stranded vehicles. In South Carolina, Richland, Lexington, Newberry, Fairfield, Kershaw, Sumter and Aiken counties. In North Carolina, coastal areas and the Outer Banks were particularly vulnerable.
