NFL Analyst's Free-Agent Matchmaker Targets Ravens & Steelers

Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports proposed that the Pittsburgh Steelers should consider signing Kyle Van Noy, a former linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens. Wilson emphasized Van Noy's versatility, highlighting his ability to play off the edge, play off-ball linebacker, call the defense, and provide locker room leadership, especially after Mike Tomlin's departure. However, Kyle Van Noy himself has expressed reservations about joining the Steelers, citing the presence of T.J. Watt, Alex Highsmith, and Nick Herbig, questioning how much playing time he would receive.

Wilson also suggested Joe Mixon as a potential fit for the Baltimore Ravens. Mixon, who previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans, could offer a change-of-pace option alongside Derrick Henry. Mixon's ability to catch passes out of the backfield would add a dimension currently lacking in the Ravens' running back group. However, with Justice Hill entrenched as Henry's backup, and Rasheen Ali and fifth-round rookie Adam Randall also in the mix, the Ravens' depth chart at running back suggests Mixon might not be the best fit for the team.

NFL.com’s Marc Ross believes that Ravens outside linebacker Mike Green is poised for a breakout season. Ross noted Green's improvement in the second half of last season and the presence of veterans like Trey Hendrickson and Calais Campbell, who can mentor Green and alleviate pressure, allowing his natural talent to shine.

He brings versatility, leadership, and experience, but Van Noy questions how much he would play.

He would offer a receiving threat out of the backfield, complementing Derrick Henry's running style.

Increased playing time, veteran mentorship, and a strong defensive scheme are expected to contribute to his growth.
