Although his production has declined in recent years, Woods remains a valuable asset due to his experience and versatility.

Woods primarily played as an outside receiver with the Texans but also has experience in the slot. This flexibility allows the Steelers to utilize him in various formations and exploit mismatches. His blocking ability is particularly valuable in the running game, providing an extra edge on the perimeter. According to Pro Football Focus, Woods logged 282 snaps as an outside receiver and 115 in the slot last year.

The Steelers did not draft a wide receiver this year but addressed the position by signing Woods. The team released NT Montravius Adams and S Ryan Watts to create roster spots. Woods' contract is not fully guaranteed, but he is expected to compete for a spot on the 53-man roster during training camp.
