This transformation reportedly occurred while he was evading authorities after a warrant was issued for his arrest in July 2022. He also underwent heart surgery in November 2024.

Nikola Peković, a celebrated basketball player and close associate of Šarić, had his armored BMW X5 temporarily seized by Montenegrin police. The vehicle was being driven by Boris Dragaš, a member of the Montenegrin Army, who now faces charges. Police reports indicate that Peković is considered a high-ranking member of a criminal organization.

The police operation involved searching 11 locations across northern Montenegro, resulting in the seizure of firearms, ammunition, drugs, and other contraband. Several individuals were arrested and face charges related to drug abuse and illegal possession of weapons. These actions are part of a broader effort by law enforcement to combat organized crime in the region.
