Azerbaijan Reaffirms Peace with Armenia and Diplomatic Influence

President Ilham Aliyev's active participation in the Munich Security Conference underscored Azerbaijan's growing role in regional and global security. His meetings with heads of state, government officials, and international experts served to reinforce Azerbaijan's position as a reliable partner and proactive actor in the broader geopolitical space.

Aliyev's discussions also touched upon the TRIPP project, a road and rail link through Armenia connecting Azerbaijan's exclave of Nakhchivan to Europe, expressing confidence in its realization. He also noted progress in relations with France after meeting President Emmanuel Macron in Copenhagen.

At the conference, meetings with leaders such as Nechirvan Barzani (Iraqi Kurdistan Region), Iliana Iotova (Bulgaria), Robert Kalinak (Slovakia), Kaja Kallas (European Commission), and Volodymyr Zelensky (Ukraine) addressed various aspects of regional cooperation, energy security, and economic initiatives. Discussions also explored Azerbaijan’s digital transformation strategy with Oracle Corporation CEO Mike Sicilia.

These interactions have strengthened Azerbaijan’s strategic position in Europe and highlighted its contributions to peace initiatives in the region. The analyst Azer Garayev noted that Aliyev's engagement has significantly contributed to enhancing Azerbaijan’s international influence and promoting the country’s strategic interests.

The conference reaffirmed Azerbaijan's regional and global diplomatic influence and its role as a reliable partner in the international arena.

Discussions included regional security, energy security, development of transport corridors, and new realities in the South Caucasus.
