Trump Oversees White House Ballroom Renovation Plans

The White House is set to undergo significant renovations, primarily focusing on the construction of a new state ballroom. President Trump has been actively involved in the planning, meeting with staff, the National Park Service, and the Secret Service to discuss design and logistics. The project, led by McCrery Architects, aims to create a 90,000-square-foot space capable of hosting 650 seated guests.

The current East Wing, constructed in 1902 and renovated multiple times, will be the site for the new ballroom. The architectural design will stay true to the classical style of the White House, ensuring seamless integration with the existing structure. Susie Wiles, White House Chief of Staff, emphasized Trump’s commitment to preserving the history of the White House while adding a beautiful and functional space.

Trump also financed the installation of two 88-foot American flags earlier in the year, each costing around $50,000, demonstrating his focus on White House aesthetics. The ballroom project addresses the long-standing issue of limited event space, which currently necessitates the use of large tents for major functions. The Secret Service will handle all necessary security enhancements during construction.

President Trump and private donors are funding the $200 million project.

Construction is scheduled to begin in September 2025 and be completed before the end of President Trump’s term.

The ballroom will be approximately 90,000 square feet and accommodate 650 seated guests.
