Bessent to Remain IRS Commissioner, Bisignano to Take on New CEO Role

Now, Frank Bisignano, currently commissioner of the Social Security Administration and former president/CEO of Fiserv, will take on the CEO role at the IRS, overseeing day-to-day operations while maintaining his SSA responsibilities. This dual role is expected to be indefinite. Bisignano’s background includes leadership positions at Fiserv, First Data, JPMorgan Chase, and Citigroup. Bessent is also leading the search for a replacement for Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell.
