Nebraska and South Carolina Football Players Earn Academic All-District Honors

The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams recognize student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. For Nebraska, the honored players include Tyler Knaak, Jason Maciejczak, Luke Lindenmeyer, Dane Key, Derek Branch, Brice Turner, Kyle Cunanan, and John Hohl. Luke Lindenmeyer, a tight end, had a standout season with career-best statistics and is now a finalist for Academic All-America honors.

South Carolina's honorees are Nyck Harbor, Brady Hunt, David Bucey, Mason Love, and William Joyce. Mason Love, a punter, had an exceptional freshman season and is nominated for Academic All-American status. These athletes have demonstrated a commitment to both their sport and their studies, setting an example for their peers.

Players need to have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA.

Players must be a starter or key reserve and be at least a sophomore athletically and academically.

First, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced January 27, 2026.

These awards highlight the importance of academic achievement in college athletics. It demonstrates that student-athletes can excel in their sports while maintaining high academic standards. These players serve as role models, inspiring others to prioritize their education alongside their athletic pursuits.
