Bethune-Cookman Football and Volleyball Update: September 12, 2025

Football:

Bethune-Cookman faced a tough challenge against the University of Miami, a top-ranked FBS team. The Wildcats' offense struggled to find the end zone, managing only a field goal. Miami's offense, led by quarterback Carson Beck and running back Mark Fletcher Jr., proved too much for the Wildcats' defense. Bethune-Cookman's quarterbacks, Timmy McClain and Cam'Ron Ransom, both saw playing time, with McClain leading in passing yards.

Volleyball:

The Bethune-Cookman volleyball team had a mixed day, starting with a dominant 3-0 victory over South Carolina State. Tiyanna Preston led the attack with 12 kills. However, the Wildcats faced a tougher opponent in Charleston Southern, ultimately falling in a five-set thriller. Ariel Simmons and Shayla Henry each recorded 13 kills, while Kaleigh Williams had an impressive nine blocks.

The volleyball team will continue the 2025 Bash at the Beach, hosting Jacksonville on September 13. The football team will meet former Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foe, South Carolina State, Saturday, September 13.

Miami won 45-3.
