The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) requested the additional game to ensure the team's preparedness amid delays in the Pakistan tour. The postponement was triggered by the temporary suspension of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan. Although a ceasefire led to the PSL final being rescheduled for May 25, this clashed with Bangladesh’s initial tour dates.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) proposed a revised schedule starting May 27 and concluding on June 5. However, Bangladesh opted to stay in the UAE to maintain logistical flexibility. This allows the team to fly directly to Pakistan if the tour proceeds, while ensuring they get match practice in the meantime.

The Bangladesh government has provided preliminary approval for the Pakistan tour, but the BCB is awaiting official written confirmation. Some players have raised security concerns, and the BCB has assured that no player will be forced to travel if they are uncomfortable. In the first T20I against the UAE, Bangladesh showcased strong performance, winning by 27 runs. Parvez Hossain Emon's century and Hasan Mahmud's 3 wickets were key highlights.
