UMass Minutemen Head to Paradise Jam for Early-Season Test

The UMass Minutemen are heading to the Paradise Jam tournament in St. Thomas with the goal of solidifying their early-season form. Their first challenge comes in the form of the College of Charleston Cougars. Despite a rocky start to their season, the Cougars present a real threat with their high-octane offense and imposing frontcourt, featuring two 7-footers. UMass will need to find ways to penetrate Charleston's solid rim protection and capitalize on the Cougars' struggles with defending the three-point line.

Should UMass advance, they could face Yale, an Ivy League powerhouse known for its exceptional shooting efficiency. Yale's offense runs primarily through senior forward Nick Townsend, who leads the team in multiple categories. Alternatively, UMass might face Akron, a top-ranked team from the MAC, known for its fast-paced, egalitarian offense.
