Giants Defeat Guardians with Wilmer Flores' Clutch Double

The game was a pitching duel for the majority of the afternoon. Gavin Williams of the Guardians held the Giants scoreless through six innings, allowing only two hits. However, the Giants finally broke through in the seventh against the Guardians' bullpen. Casey Schmitt led off the inning with a single, and Jung Hoo Lee followed with a walk. Wilmer Flores, pinch-hitting for Christian Koss, then delivered the decisive blow with a two-run double down the left-field line.

On the other side, Logan Webb was equally impressive for the Giants. He pitched seven innings, allowing only one run on seven hits while striking out nine. Webb navigated through a few jams, including an early threat in the first inning when Steven Kwan reached on an infield single. However, Webb rebounded to strike out the next batter and limit the damage.

The Guardians' only run came in the third inning when Jose Ramirez blooped a single to left field, scoring Kwan. Despite Williams' strong performance, the Guardians' offense couldn't provide enough support, ultimately leading to their defeat.

Wilmer Flores delivered the go-ahead two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Logan Webb recorded nine strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Jung Hoo Lee went 0-for-2 with two groundouts. He has been struggling in June, batting .185 for the month.
