Sharks' Shakir Mukhamadullin Suffers Season-Ending Injury

Shakir Mukhamadullin's injury is a setback for the San Jose Sharks, as he was developing into a key player on their blue line. After a slow start to the season, Mukhamadullin had a strong March, showcasing the potential that made him a highly-regarded prospect. The 23-year-old defenseman finished the season with two goals and nine points in 30 NHL games. Following the 4 Nations Face-Off, he particularly excelled, becoming a top-pairing defenseman and averaging over 20 minutes of ice time per game. Mukhamadullin is a restricted free agent (RFA), and the Sharks are expected to re-sign him, hoping he can continue his development next season.

Meanwhile, forward prospect Quentin Musty has been assigned to the Barracuda. Musty had a strong season with the OHL's Sudbury Wolves, scoring 30 goals and 59 points in 33 games. After recovering from a hand injury, he returned to action with a significant impact, scoring 42 points in 25 games. Musty is a power-forward known for his drive and powerful shot, and he is expected to contribute to the Barracuda's offense.

He suffered an upper-body injury, believed to be a shoulder injury, but the Sharks have not confirmed the exact nature of the injury.

It is not yet known if surgery will be required. The Sharks have declined to comment.

Musty is expected to add high-upside depth to the Barracuda's offense.
