Originally planned for Ramstein Air Base in Germany, the game has been moved to Alumni Hall at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The game is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ESPN and the UConn Sports Network.
UConn's history in season openers is impressive, boasting a 43-8 all-time record and a 29-game winning streak. Their last season-opening loss was in 1995. The team's head coach, Geno Auriemma, has led the Huskies to 36 of those wins. Louisville, picked to finish fourth in the ACC preseason poll, is coached by Jeff Walz, now in his 19th season. UConn defeated Louisville 85-52 in their previous match at the Women's Champions Classic.
