Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Launches Before Anticipated 'iPhone Air'

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 12GB of RAM, and options for 256GB or 512GB of storage. It includes a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 200MP main camera, using AI technologies for enhanced zoom capabilities.

Samsung claims the S25 Edge offers all-day battery life due to cooling and power delivery solutions, despite its thin design. The phone also integrates Samsung's Galaxy AI platform, providing AI agents, Now Brief, and Now Bar for curated reminders and news. Running on Android 15, it supports Google's Gemini services, including Gemini Live.

Hardware changes, such as thinner phones and upgraded displays, are key strategies for attracting customer upgrades. It remains to be seen if this strategy will prove successful for Samsung. The S25+ and S25 Ultra have three cameras, including a telephoto lens, so that's a notable difference with the Edge model.

The S25 Edge is available for preorder for $1,099.

It goes on sale May 30.
